Hi there! My name is Liz.

I am a postdoctoral research fellow working in the Penn Center for Learning Analytics at the University of Pennsylvania with Dr. Ryan Baker. I completed my PhD at the University of Central Florida with Dr. Roger Azevedo.

My research goals are to augment teaching and learning practices by supplementing large-scale methods with (e.g., Bayesian Knowledge Tracing) small-scale data (i.e., sensors; e.g., eye gaze, facial expressions, physiology, and verbalizations). I model and trace cognitive, affective, metacognitive, and motivational processes using multimodal learning analytics to scaffold self-regulated learning across diverse domains and educational technologies.

In my free time, I experiment with cooking and baking techniques. My current obsession is creating pasta and artisan bread from scratch. I am a dedicated pet mom, an avid plant propagator, and a local photographer.
